The Agronomist, a Haitian Documentary, will be screening tonight, March 11 at 7:00PM at the African-American Film Festival of West Palm Beach Florida under a special theme "Africans In The Diaspora". Haitian actor and radio host Frantzson Saintilien aka Frantz Design told Belfim last night that he is now directing his own films. He decided to go to school, he says, to learn the art of filmmaking... Going to school to learn, now that's always a good idea! Frantz did mention to us which filmmaking school in New York he is going to but... Non an eshape nou... Haitian filmmaker Godnel Latus aka Babylove has just returned from Haiti and he spoke to us about life in Haiti after the earthquake. The first thing Babylove said to us was "Tande Ak We Se De, " meaning seeing is believing. According to Babylove, what we are seeing in the news a about the earthquake in Haiti is nothing compared to what witnessed with is own eyes in the few weeks that he spent in Haiti. He says "You have to see it to believe it" Babylove is currently working on a documentary with some of the footage that he shot in Haiti after the earthquake. We are not sure when the documentary will be released but he did mention to us that his documentary is intended to give us a birdseye view of what life is really like in Haiti after the earthquake.
