The Haiti Cinema Crisis!

Everytime someone complains about social life in Haiti someone always brings up "La Vi Chè" or the fact that Haiti has bigger problems.

"La vi chè tout kote" but it does not stop progress in the developped countries.

There are over nine million people in Haiti and a Haitian movie industry that is growing super fast. It's good to know that there are some investors out there who see the need to invest in another movie theater.

It is not enough to sell "diri", "sik blan", "envètè" ak "batri" to the people.  Look at how cellular phones became a phenomenon overnight in Haiti.  It's the law of supply and demand.  Sometimes you have to create the demand and then supply it.  Other times the demand is already there waiting for a smart investor to see it.

Take my word for it... There is a demand for 100 more movie theaters around the country.

After the people finish eating, they need a nice and cozy place to digest the food, Imperial and Capitol is just not enough.

Unless Imperial and Capitol plan to become theater chains like Lowes theaters in the United States, unless there is a Capitol and Imperial in every major city in Haiti, then Haitian filmmakers will have a very hard time finding the financing they need to make blockbuster Haitian movies.

If a Haitian movie producer has to wait t to 6 months to play his/her movie in Haiti simply because there are only 2 or 3 movie theaters for NINE+ million people, then "Nou fek kare plenyen pou kalite".

Sineyas yo pa fè lajan!

Aktè yo pa ka viv sou talan yo!

If the owners and investors of Imperial and Capitol fail to think about expansion, then some outside investor will come in and take Haiti by storm just like Voila and Digicel did with the cellular phone market.

Why do you ask?

There is a demand for more movie theaters in Haiti. Movies are being produced for the people, and there are not enough movies theaters in Haiti for the people to go see them.

If you are looking for a good invesment in Haiti, consider a Movie theater chain that spans across the 10 departments.

If you build it, they will come!

I am Woodring Saint Preux, and I said it!
