How to raise money online to finance your movie project
The website is called KickStarter
KickStarter.com
Here is how it works:
Kickstarter is unique all-or-nothing funding method where creative projects must be fully-funded or no money changes hands.
You simply post your project online and anyone who is interested can pledge as little as $10.00 to fund it.
So basically, if you need $10,000 to fund your movie, for example, you post your project on KickStarter.com, if your movie project is inspiring enough, people you don't even know may be compelled to open their wallets to see your creativity come to life.
Tomorrow I will tell you about a Haitian documentary project that is currently posted on KickStater.
The filmmakers need $15,000 to start shooting the documentary in Haiti and they posted the project on the website.
As of the writing of this article, they have already raised $8,670 for the project.
Basically they are offering the supporters something in return:
From a $25.00 pledge in exchange for invitation to a Haitian brunch to a $2,000 of more pledge for credit as an Associate Producer in the movie.
For a Haitian filmmaker, It may not be a bad idea to offer supporters a free invitation to the movie premiere or a free autographed DVD when it is released.
I am always trying to find ways to help you and I think this might not be a bad idea.
Take a look the a website, I hope it helps
