Languissait un vieux noir qu'admirait l'univers

La voûte du cachot entend trop mes soupirs.

Le général français qui fait la guerre au monde,
De son prisonnier noir connait-il les tourments?

Hélas! Il m'a jeté dans cette fosse immonde!
Bonaparte, rends-moi ma femme et mes enfants!
